Templeton Trail Run and Magic Mountain

The Magic Mountain 5 Miler was held Nov 14 in the hills of Leominster and Sterling. 46 folks did the run on a picture perfect day.

The Templeton Trail Race was held Oct 31 up at Narragansett High School- hosted by Joe Dimucci. This year- the course was shortened to 5.3 miles because the water crossing was under 5 feet of water.

2010 Cape Cod Half Marathon Trilogy Champion!!!

Congratulations to NMC's own Kris Gleason for taking the top spot for women in the Cape Cod Half Marathon Trilogy series. The Trilogy consists of the Hyannis Half, the Johnny Kelley Half, and the Harwich Cranberry Half. Kris ran all 3 races while sister Cindy ran two of the three- and came in third place for the women.

The Cape Cod Trilogy series is put on by Race Director Paul Collyer- who put together a fine Race series attracting great talent and providing great Post Race Entertainment.

    Congratulations Kris!!!

NMC was well represented at this years Tufts 10K for Women. Was a beautiful Columbus Day for a Boston Run.

    10/10/10 Updates-

Added Results to Fred Brown Memorial Run- pictures coming soon.

Just a shout-out to those NMC-er's who put it on the table and did the Maniac 5K down in Southwick Mass on Oct 2nd. For those who don't know what the Maniac Race is- its a 5K Obstacle Course designed by Navy Seals. It includes crawling through mud under barbed wire, sliding down a wet mud hill, jumping over fire, and dodging swinging tires.

Coming Soon- The Burbank Trails Part 2- Revenge of the Runner

Coming September 12th- Overlook Trail Race
Registration is at Saima Park- and race begins at 10AM at the top of Scott Rd(about 1/4 mile walk).

This race is one of our Fundraiser events- and part proceeds from this race are given to both the North County Land Trust and the Audubon Society.

Looks like we have three events going on:
The 5 Mile Race out and around Overlook Reservoir-
    A 5K Running course-
    A 5K Walking course-

This looks to be a good-sized event folks- as we will have some FSU
(Fitchburg State University) runners, and a number of runners from Back on My Feet. Back on My Feet is a Boston chapter of homeless foks in the Boston area who have taken to Running.

I should have Google Maps posted soon once we have all routes finalized.

Log Cabin 10K(A Stroll in the Rain)

So lets be frank about this right from the start- yes we got a bit wet! As our luck would have it, the only night it rained all summer was during our 10K.

We had plenty of Volunteers, and the runners came out in force. It was a pleasure to see Karma and Marc(rumor has it this was a date night without kids).

Winner for the Men was Brian Allen of Fitchburg- with Brad Fors right on his footsteps, while on the Womens side- Karma Tousignant took the tape for the Ladies.
