Summer Races Continue

Well attended summer races continue.

A lot of effort has gone into getting the summer races organized. Thank you Rene, race directors, and all involved with this process. There may still be some changes to this schedule due to many things still changing and uncertainties. Please check the website as races get closer. All changes will be post there.

Aug. 3, Tuesday, Country Road 5K
Come to the country for a 5K at 703 South Rd in Templeton, MA. Race begins at 6:30 pm. For more information or questions contact the race director, Jonathan, at runningkid47@yahoo.com.

Aug. 10, Tuesday, North Monoosnoc Hill 4 M Trail Race.
Up for a challenge? Come run the North Monoosnoc Hill. This trail race’s starting line is at 699 West St., Leominster, MA and starts at 6:30 pm. Park on Old Tavern Rd. and please park on the right hand side road. Aug. 17, Tuesday, Merrimac This is a 7 mile handicap race. Everyone predicts their pace and starts at an adjusted time so that, in theory, everyone finishes at the same time. Race begins at 6:30 pm at 1 Locust St., Merrimac, MA. For more information or questions contact the race director, Phil, at philipmcgaw@comcast.net

Aug. 24, Tuesday, Log Cabin 10K This 10k race will be held at the Log Cabin Tavern at 135 Westminster St. in Fitchburg, MA. Race begins at 6:30 pm.

Aug. 31, Tuesday, Whitney Memorial 5K This race starts at 6:30 pm at Rogers Field in Devens, MA. From Rt. 2 take the Jackson Road exit. Registration will be in the parking lot of Rogers Field. For more information or questions contact the race director, Rene, at rainman52@verizon.net.

Oct. 23, Saturday, 4C’s Race This is a 5.7 mile race starting at 12:10 pm and held at 29 Chapel St. in Shirley, MA. There will be a POT LUCK after the race so bring one of your favorite dishes. Runners must wear NMC colors, orange and black. For more information or questions contact the race director, Phil, at philipmcgaw@comcast.net.

Other Races

September 6, Monday, West Fitchburg Homecoming Days 5K
Race takes place at the Log Cabin at 135 Westminster St. in Fitchburg. There will be a children’s race at noon, and the 5K will begin approximately 2 pm. The entry fee is free and there are cash prizes. For more information contact Brian at the Log Cabin. The status of this race is TBD, so it would be best to contact Brian to ensure the race is on.

September 11, Saturday, Hubbardston Library 5k Run/Walk
Come run the 24th Annual Hubbardston Library 5K Run/Walk. This race is being held at Hubbardston Center School, 8 Elm Street,Hubbardston, MA. Registration begins at 8 am. Race is at 9 am. The race director, Mark Wigler, is a NMC member. For more information you can contact Mark at (978) 928-1520 or email him at mtwigler@gmail.com. September 19, Sunday, 1761 Old Mill 5K
This race has been cancelled.

November 25,Thursday, 24th Annual Thanks For Running Road Race
This is a 3 mile race at 151 Boutelle St, Fitchburg, MA. There is an 8:30 am start for walkers and an 8:45 start for runners. The $25 fee goes to benefit The Hydrocephalus Association and a long sleeve tee shirt for you. November 25,Thursday, 42nd Gardner Turkey Trot
