BAA Training Run Policy
Hello NMC’ers.
I am the liaison between the North Medford Running Club and the BAA Marathon. As such, I would like to make all members of our running club aware of a new BAA policy regarding training. runs on the Boston Marathon course, traditionally run in late March.
The BAA does not support any training runs in that time frame, nor do the health and public safety partners who support them. Running clubs who are found to organize or affiliate with such training runs will not be invited to participate in the 2023 Boston Marathon.
The board of directors and officers of NMC unanimously agree to support this BAA policy.
Best of luck to all North Medford runners who will be running Boston 2022. Be safe, be strong, be smart.

Devens Spring 5K/1M Series begins April 6. An eight-week series using the same course. Check out the flyer for details. Hope to see you there.
Races held by NMC
March 19, Saturday, Shamrock on the Rocks 5K Run/Walk, presented by the North Medford Club and On the Rocks. Race will be held at On the Rocks, 96 Lakefront Street, Lunenburg, MA. Walkers start at 12:30 pm, and runners start at 1:00 pm. Awards to top 3 overall men and women and top 3 male and female in age groups. For more information: Down load flyer here for details.
April 9, Saturday, 30th Annual Merrimack River 10 Mile Trail Race, USATF New England Trail Championship, presented by the North Medford Club. 9am. Parking at Doubletree by Hilton, Old River Rd, Andover, MA. Registration fee $10 before 4/2/22, $15 post and day of race. Add $10 for t-shirt, limit of 75. The Merrimack River race has been selected to host the USATF New England Trail Championship this year so please make sure that you enter your USATF member # to the race application. Weekly Track Workouts at Fitchburg State
Weekly track workouts are being held on Thursdays at 5:30 pm at Fitchburg State. Safe and social distancing practices will be used. For more information contact Coach Jim at srunshope@aol.com.
